I can’t believe that Labor Day is almost here. It seems like just yesterday I was writing a post about Memorial Day! Though I am devastated to see Summer go, I’m looking forward to welcoming in the cooler temps here soon. I’m beginning to plan my Labor Day Party now, and this year, I’m all about the easy solutions! After all, who wants to spend the last (figurative) day of summer slaving away in the kitchen? I sure don’t! Check out my easy ideas for a Labor Day below. You’ll be so glad that you did!
Fruit Skewers
Looking for an easy appetizer? These fruit skewers are just the thing. Slice watermelon, apples, oranges, cantaloupe, and whatever else you would like and put them through wooden skewers. Fruit and summer go together like peanut butter and jelly, so this appetizer will definitely be loved.
Sliders
These sliders only take thirty minutes or so to whip up, and since one batch yields 18 you’ll have enough food for all of your guests. Put out a little bar with sauces and condiments so your guests can customize their bites to eat! Get the recipe here.
S’mores For Dessert
You’ll need a backyard fire pit (or at least a cooking torch) to make these happen, but an end of summer S’more is something that will be enjoyed by all. What a perfect way to end the night.
Decor
This year, I’m covering all of my tables in red and white checkerboard print and making my centerpieces out of mason jars and fresh-cut red, white, and blue flowers. It’s simple, it’s bound to look beautiful, and I’m all about low-effort Labor Day parties!
Labor Day Party Games
For entertainment, we’ll be spending our time playing classic games on the lawn. I love this giant Jenga idea, as well as this tutorial to make your own DIY cornhole board. We’re even going to spray paint our yard with non-toxic paint so we have a game of outdoor Twister. You could even do a huge game of Tic-Tac-Toe. Everyone will love this last opportunity to hang out and have fun outside with friends and family.
