DIY Backyard Hacks

Good Housekeeping created herb planters using metal troughs! I love this idea–it helps to create a rustic garden feel, and keeps your herbs handy. I also love the idea of creating a small potted plant garden on a porch. Porches and decks can feel a bit austere unless you’ve got some greenery going on.

Kelly’s Moonlight posted a hack that’s all about color! She painted otherwise boring folding chairs to give them a new & vibrant life. I love how beautiful these colors are, but you could choose any color of paint that coordinates with your outdoor space. You’ve got to do this before your next party.

the picture of spray painted glow in the dark pots is not authenic. The picture and description don’t represent the effect of glow in the dark paint. – the glow will be barely noticeable. I’ve tried this and found it to be a waste of time and money. This picture should be removed from Pinterest- false advertising.

What paint are you using? I used three coats of spray glow in the dark paint. Bright white. It worked great. Try that.?

This has to be the Shirwin Williams brush on yellow glow in the dark paint . Not the spray on kind . Also use glow in the dark paint for outdoors instead.

The planters shown are electric with led lights. They are not painted with glow in the dark paint.
I looked at the webpage for Stagetecture.

Are you talking about the glow in the dark one? They are simply planters that we already had and we used a glow in the dark spray paint on them

I tried it on a tan, plastic container and it didn’t glow at all. I applied another coat, still nothing.

I’m so sorry! I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be working. I’ve never had an issue.
