I’m going to be honest with you, I HAVE forgotten about these daily chores from time to time! But as soon as I realized I was forgetting them, I made it a point to never forget these daily chores again. These chores take minutes, and you’d be amazed at how much cleaner doing them makes your home look.
Empty the Dishwasher
Start the day off right by emptying the dishwasher. It’s no one’s favorite chore, but we all can kind of do it in our sleep anyway, thanks to muscle memory. It’s something that needs to be done daily.
Make the Bed
Remember what your mom used to say about making your bed? Well, she was absolutely right. Not only will making your bed make your home look more put together, studies show it may actually help you sleep better. Make making the bed one of your daily chores for your own sake!
Pick Up Paper Clutter
Once daily it’s a good idea to gather any paper that may have accumulated anywhere in your home. File the mail away in a mail organizer, and throw anything away that you won’t miss. It’s better to get on top of the clutter before it becomes a problem! This is one of a few daily chores can really make a difference in the overall appearance of your home.
Wipe Down the Bathroom
Bathrooms are gross, and it’s just REALLY tricky to get toothpaste on the brush sometimes. I’ve just come to accept it. Due to mine (and my family’s…) messy bathroom habits, I make it a point to wipe down the sink and countertop once daily. I make time for it after they’ve left for school! This, among other daily chores, can make weekly cleaning much easier.
Clean Kitchen Counters
Your kitchen says a lot about your house. And messy, crumby countertops never send a good message. I will wipe down the countertops everytime I am done with cooking. It takes me minutes with Clorox Wipes.
Take Care of (Some) Laundry
Laundry is one of the hardest things for me to stay on top of! It’s a never-ending chore and I seriously hate every minute of it. If I set aside 5-10 minutes every day to fold up or put away laundry, it’s a much more manageable chore!
Sweep the Floor
Once everyone has hit the hay, sweep the kitchen floor or run over it with a Swiffer Sweeper.
Wiping the Table
Go over the kitchen table with a washcloth to grab any crumbs that probably (most likely) accumulated there during the day.
Load Dirty Dishes
You unloaded that dishwasher for a reason this morning, right? Time to fill it up again! I run my dishwasher nightly once everyone has gone to bed. We use most of the clean dishes in the morning, and it makes the clean-out process a whole lot easier.
Pick Up Entryway Clutter
Because you know that Johnny’s sneakers are definitely still by the front door, even though you asked him to pick them up. 😉
