5 Fabulous Uses for Coconut Oil

Coconut oil can be a great way to decrease the fat content in your diet but did you know that there are other helpful uses for coconut oil? From your health to your home, coconut oil can do it all!

5 Fabulous Uses for Coconut Oil

A Hair Mask

When you’re in the shower, just scoop a small amount out of the jar, apply to your roots and scalp and let it sit for about 5 minutes before rinsing. After, just wash your hair as you normally would. You won’t regret how soft your hair will be.

A Skin Mask

I suppose it’s not really a “mask” as much as it is a lotion but unlike many lotions, when applied to the skin, coconut oil leaves it soft and supple without leaving it greasy. Simply scoop a handful of oil out of the jar, rub it around on your skin to soften it and apply to your skin. Voila!

Eye Make-up Remover

This is a life saver when you’ve left your favorite eye makeup remover at home and you’re on vacation. Apply a small amount to a cotton ball, rest it on your lashes for just a few seconds and then rinse your face with warm water.

Eyelash Conditioner

Now I bet you’ve never hear of this before. For so many of us ladies, eyelashes are important to our “look”. By applying coconut oil to a clean eyelash brush, applying to clean eyelashes and letting it soak in overnight, you will end up with soft, flexible lashes that are not as prone to breaking. Plus, it may help them to look fuller and possibly longer! Who doesn’t want that?!

Bug Repellant

Headed camping for the weekend? Don’t like that sticky, smelly bug spray you can buy at the store? Well, a mixture of coconut oil and peppermint oil extract will keep those pesky pests away from your skin. Plus, it moisturized while it wards off those bugs!
